10 Ways to Pamper Your Cat - by the Cat
88Cats Deserve to Be Pampered
Cats are born knowing they deserve to be pampered. They are master of their domains, claiming the softest laps, the warmest spots in the sun and the best views from the heights of the top of the refrigerator. Some cat owners, however need instruction in the basic rules of cat pampering. Gemini, my cat, will tell you in his own words how to properly pamper a cat.

Gemini, The Cat
Ten Ways to Pamper Your Cat
Written by the cat, Gemini, King of the World
They call me “Gemini”, but my full name is “Gemini, King of the World.” I’m ruler of the house, the RV and the front porch and anything I can see from there. My life is full of responsibility. I keep the birds in line and the rodents at bay. I guard our territory from invaders like the big ugly fluffy guy across the street and the halfwit dog next door. They all respect me because they know I’m a killer and a Ninja. I can shred a dog’s nose with one swipe of my razor sharp claws. I can terrorize the fluffy guy with my fierce growl. Besides this, I’m very beautiful. Do I not deserve to be pampered?
Trying to Teach an Old Human New Tricks!
It took a few years, but I finally have my people trained. For humans, they were fairly quick learners, and they now anticipate most of my needs before I am forced to punish them by puking up hairballs where they will step in them in the middle of the night. They aren’t particularly bright, but they have good hearts.
My main person, Mama, can’t even catch a mouse! (She likes when I call her “Mama”, but I like to think of her as the Guardian of the Refrigerator.) Don’t get me wrong, I really like Mama. She has a nice cozy, soft lap, especially when she wears that blue fuzzy bathrobe, and she feeds me whenever I ask. I’ve trained her to open the door so that the sun shines in on my favorite rug in the morning, and she shares her bed with me at night. My only problem with Mama is that laptop computer that is always on my place in her lap. Humph!
Then, I figured, as long as she’s fooling with the doggone thing all the time, I might as well have her do something useful for me and the rest of CatKind. So I’m having her type this new hub on 10 ways to pamper your cat.
Now pay attention here, because obviously, some of you have a few things to learn about cat pampering… Sigh… they say old humans can’t learn new tricks, but you can try…
Cats Deserve To Be Pampered
1. Cats deserve to be pampered!
The first thing to remember is that CATS DESERVE TO BE PAMPERED! You do not have a common dog here, people! When you have the privilege of living with a King of the World, you need to learn how to pamper properly, and without complaint!
2. Feed Cats only the finest foods.
Forget that dry stuff. Except for those tasty little kitty treats that cost $3 for 4 oz., dry cat food is just plain boring! And we don’t like the cheap canned stuff either! If you have to resort to canned food instead of homemade, at least get the gourmet varieties that cost $1.00 a can or more! Personally, I like chicken and a little seafood now and then – not too dry, not too runny.
3. Make homemade soup for the Cat.
I REALLY like homemade soup! The juice from the can of tuna is good, too. If you don’t have that, just cook up some fish with a little water. I also like chicken soup. Actually, I prefer raw chicken, but Mama never feeds me the raw stuff I like ever since I puked on her fuzzy slippers.
I have trained her to make some pretty good soup, though! The one thing I can’t get her to make is mouse soup. No matter how many fresh mice I bring her, she just won’t cook ‘em up. I even put a nice plump one on her pillow once. Even though it was all ready to cook with the head neatly chewed off, she just threw it out. AND she said bad words. How rude!
A Nice Fleece Throw to Line the Cat's Basket
4. Get plenty of fleece blankets.
Fleece blankets are good. All cats like fleece blankets. I like one in my basket, and another one on the end of the couch where I like to sleep. Don’t forget to shake them out regularly, because I hate to lie on bits of kitty litter. Oh, and the fleece blanket should be in flattering colors so that when I lay on it, I look really good! My color is red. I really look good on red.
5. Play soothing music.
Some humans think that cats don’t care about music, but that’s not true. I love music if it’s the right stuff. Mama knows that I really like Dolly Parton – she has such a sweet voice! And for quiet afternoon naps, a little Mozart is good. Play it softly so as not to disturb my kitty dreams. Never, Never, Never play Hank Williams, Jr. And PLEASE let me out of the house if you’re going to play the dog-awful Polish polka music like Mama does sometimes when she’s in a good mood!
Keep Visiting Dogs Away
6. Litter boxes should always be clean.
Even if I go outdoors, I still want my litter box to be clean! You want your bathroom clean even if you use a public restroom now and then, don’t you? Clean, clean, clean! And please, can I have some privacy?
7. NEVER, NEVER invite strange dogs or cats into the house!
My house, my people, my turf! My food, my people, my toys, my fleece blanket! Mine, mine, mine! You would think they’d learn after I drew blood on the last German Shepard who visited. Hahaha! That dog was so scared, she wet her pants! I almost felt bad about clawing her nose. But you can’t always be Mr. Nice Guy.
8. Do NOT EVER close the doors to the bedroom or bathroom.
Cats need to range freely in the house. If you’re in there, I need to be able to see what you’re doing. If I’m in there with you, I might have to check on the rest of the family or my food dish, or my litter box. In fact, don’t close any doors. I like to check the closets for soft places to sleep, and I need to get in and out whenever I want.
9. Provide plenty of warmth.
Cats need lots of warmth. Forget those energy saving measures. Turn up the heat, light the fireplace. Let in the sunshine. Let the cat cuddle up on a warm lap or next to you in bed. Mama even lets me get under the covers when I’m chilly, though she grumbles if I purr too loud. P.S. I really would like one of those heated cat beds for Christmas!
Who Pampers Their Cats?
Do You Pamper Your Cat?
See results without voting10. Never, never, NEVER vacuum!
Throw the vacuum cleaner out! Cats hate the vacuum. I hate the vacuum! There’s a good reason for this, people! The vacuum cleaner is EVIL. It makes a horrible noise and can suck you right up. Kittens have disappeared into it. It can eat your food. It ate up my favorite catnip mouse (though it did choke on it…hahaha). It can suck the fur off your body. Get rid of it, now! I hate the vacuum cleaner! It gives me bad dreams and makes me all jumpy.
Gemini, King of the World
Remember, The Cat Comes First!
These are just a few things you need to pay attention to when you live with a cat. Just remember, the CAT COMES FIRST! If you are creative and think hard, you can probably think of lots of other ways to pamper a Cat just like Mama does.

You naughty cat! You are giving our owners (Harry, Lilly, Doodle & Scribble) ideas we'd rather they didn't have!
LOVE! And all so true. Voted up and others, and sharing socially.
So true, so true. My cats (2 have passed on, we still have the third) always liked any kind of canned food or people food that included gravy. And you want to talk about hating the vacuum? One of our cats howled so loudly and forlornly whenever the vacuum was turned on, you'd have sworn we were torturing him. You pegged the nature of cats.
What a great idea! i got such a kick out of reading this from Gemini's point of view. He is indeed a majestic fellow.
Hi Stephanie,
Gemini has done an amazing job in training you. lol
Voted up up and away!
Lovely hub! Gemini really knows her stuff.
hahaha that was funny, specially the mouse soup. Sabrina, my cat brought me a valentines gift last Feb. 14, well, the head was intact but the body was in shreds. Could it be she wants me to make a soup out of it? yuck!
I am reading this again, aloud, to my 4 dogs, Sabrina the cat, and my husband... the dogs are growling, the cat smirking, the husband is not listening. Oh well, I just want them to know why I was laughing out loud.
Thanks for a fun hub.
Oh, how I can so relate to this. Absolutely beautiful hub! Gemini is quite the ham for the camera ;-) Thanks for sharing!
My cat will never read this hub. I won't allow it. She's full of herself already. The last thing she needs to read is that I need pamper her MORE. And, really, she shouldn't be reading anything, because she's a cat, and who taught her to read in the first place? Sheesh!
This will always be one of my very favorite hubs of all time. It is adorable!
My cat insisted that I study this hub carefully.
I love this hub, I had to read it again! Better get on that mouse soup! You don't want another headless mouse showing up on your pillow, ewww..
I LOOOOOVE this HUB! I thank you and my Cat LOVES you! However, I swear you just wrote this about MY cat..hahaha
Lisa
I can't believe that I have overlooked music for my cats. I am gonna get them into Mozart and then...who knows.
THIS IS SO HILARIOUS!
What I like best is Gemini's introduction. He's such a proud and haughty cat.
I love cats. I've got 5 in the house. :D
I truly enjoyed this hub. I've gotta vote this funny and awesome!
Very cute! Gemini sounds like my "Brother" - definitely has us trained. Although my cat also hates the vacuum, he LOVES the blow-dryer! He will sit right next to my feet, while I'm drying my hair and wait for me to give him blasts of warm air on his face & body - When I stop, he'll "yell" at me until I blast him so more. Thanks for sharing - voted up!
Well, given that this is straight from the cat's mouth, I think it must be true! Voting this Up and Interesting.
Our cats make us pamper them. Since they outnumber us, we fear. (help)
Love, love, love your article! Cute cat too!
We have a rescue cat and he is the most pampered cat - we light the log burner for him (lol)...and well, he is actually the boss of our household!!
Great hub - loved it! Danced on all the buttons by the way and voted up.
Brilliant! my cat thinks he is the king of world as well, and he knows just how to get what he wants! The only difference is that he LOVES the vacuum cleaner. He will sit right by it and loves to be hovered, a bit weird! He also is fine with loud noises - he sleeps like a log. Many a time he has nearly been run over cause he falls asleep behind the wheel on a car and doesn't wake up when the engine turns on... Gemini looks like a wonderful cat, just like this wonderful hub!
This was absolutely a wonderful hub!
Gemini is truly a handsome cat. Cats are wonderful and so is your sense of humor.
Really entertaining hub. Thank you!
This is so cute! I really do believe a cat wrote it! I love the part about the "evil vacuum cleaner"...my cat Coco-Puff hates the vacuum cleaner more than anything...I always feel a little mean when I vacuum, because it scares her so much....
Your welcome.
I think that it is a great idea to have Gemini telling his story. It was fun to read, and the photos are great, too. Gemini is a very beautiful cat. I have another cat that my neice brought over. She has dogs and they were attacking her cat, Sasha. Sasha is real nice and very friendly. She is dark tiger-striped and is real cute. Happy Holidays.
Hi Stephanie, thanks for writing this hub it was a very enjoyable read . I sent it to my brother because he has two cats and he will enjoy reading it to.
Vote Awesome !!!
Have a wonderful Christmas my friend !
So funny, and so true. Gemini is one awesome cat and he really knows how to train his humans and the way it sounds any other four legged critters who cross his path. I loved it! Gotta tell ya. I almost needed depends reading the vacuum cleaner part.
Thanks for the lesson and thanks for the laugh
Sandy Wells
Once l saw the title l knew l´d be hooked. Brilliant hub!!!. Thank you. all cat lovers will appreciate the truth of this hub. Oh and l must of course praise gemini, King of the word for doing such a good job here.
Of course cats rule the world. Humans have one purpose, to serve our felines. As for your rules, number 10 is an issue. We have a central vac and one of our two cats likes to ride the vacuum. Strangest thing you ever saw. Also makes cleaning the house difficult.
Please don't ever let my head female cat Pepper read this! She's already a first class Brat and she'll absolutely take over! She already has the run of 6 rooms in our house - her fur is everywhere; it even hitches rides with me on my way to work. AND she won't share a litter box with the other male cat. Au contraire! She'd rather go outside in the rain than get her delicate little paws soiled in the box.
Very inspiring hub. I love cats and I learn many things about cat from this hub. Well done and vote up!
Prasetio
I loved your Hub. Im a big animal lover and this has been the best animal one yet.
This message is from Leo (sofa), Sugar (recliner), Shy-shy (window view) and Sassy (wherever I want) who rule the house but cannot type! Thank you very much for informing the world of our lofty status in the animal kingdom. Our owner is aware but we still have some training to do on her!
Hahahaha What a fun hub, Stephanie. I think Gemini would give his paw of approval on your write up of his advice. Congratulations on the selection for hub of the day. Well deserved. :)
Delightful and a subject close to my heart, love your photo of yourself too, well done, Stephanie
Congratulations, on Hub of the Day. Our cats we never close a door or they go crazy. Enjoyed your hub.
Let's hear it for Gemini - hero of all catkind! :)
I love the photo with your cat all curled up in the basket! So comfy!
My cat will be 17 in Feb and she is the boss for sure. Even my husband who is not really a cat person does her bidding and since she doesn't allow anyone but me to touch her he doesn't have to worry about having to pet her.
Great fun hub.
Polly
Hi, I loved this, it was spot on! lol! Gemini is the king of the world, and my mum had one exactly the same too! well, he thinks he was king, he used to yell blue murder if he was shut out of the bedroom, and then when he was let in, he wandered around, nose in the air until he was satisfied that everything was just right for him, then he would jump on the bed at her feet, used to make laugh so much, great hub and congrats!
Congratulations on your Hub of the day! Totally deserved to be out there and get the votes from your fellow Hubbers.
I'm very much in love with any cat, but I'm especially in love with my two Spanish ones. Kees and Loes. They get all the pampering they need and if they want some more, they'll just wake me up in the middle of the night:-)
Voted up, shared and away!
My husband and I adopted a very old kitty and decided we were her retirement home. A place of rest, relaxation and pampering! Great hub!
This article could've been written by my cat, she definitely shares the same attitude as your Gemini. Congrats on your Hub of the Day.
All UPS on this crazy fun hub, Stephanie! Love it, of course!
I laughed and laughed. . . I love cats so much too though I don't have one now. Have had one ever since I was small. Congrats on the hub of the day!!!! Just in case you would like to check out Nora, the piano cat, visit my blog www.eunicewanguistuhlhofer.wordpress.com/a cat with a dream
Gemini, you definitely are King of the World and at the home-front you have them all trained to do your bidding. Blessings, Debby
And here I was thinking all this time that I bought all those fleece blankets for myself. XD Awesome hub!
Dear Stephanie and Gemini, my cats, Kato Jr., Lickey, Spirit, and Grey Boy send their regards. They are pleased that you got the word out. Down with vacuum cleaners! Regards Mommy person
I am not a "cat person", but this hub was both cute and funny! I enjoyed reading it, and think that you have a pretty amazing cat. If I ever were to get a cat, I'd want one that can talk and write! ;) hehe
Great hub, and congratulations on having the Hub of the Day!
Cute article! Sorry to say though cat that you do leave hairballs all over the place and my other guests (and myself) don't like your hairs all over the sofa or in our food. I didn't know cats could eat soup though, is there anything that I shouldn't feed them?
Great hub! You nailed it. I immediately thought of my cats at several points. Soft places to sleep are a must. Anytime a new soft object is left lying around, it instantly becomes a bed. My cat will bust through the doors if I close one. Can't be left out. Good work!
Well anyone owning a cat knows why the Egyptians worshiped them. This article was marvelous and so true.
Your sense of humor reigns great read!
Beautiful cat. Yep, cats are bossy. But remember, no human tuna because it can make cats very ill, maybe kill them.
Stephanie, this is a great hub, congrats! We adopted our cat, Emma, in August from the Humane Society and I'm noticing all these great behaviors about her. She comes on my lap when I have the laptop on me, she meows loudly at 3am when she finds her favorite ball! She's been a great addition to our family. I loved everything you wrote, good job!
This hub hit the nail on the head! My Cats are lying on their backs by the fire, purring loudly. They know how to live!
Cute hub! My cat Maggie looks a lot like Gemini, except the fur over her nose is white. Is Gemini a snowshoe too? Very beautiful! I like the photo of Gemini on the leash :)
Congratulations on Hub of the Day! I am sure Gemini must be purring over this award.
Excellent content, funny, awesome. I'm a follower now.
I don't have a cat, but I will keep all of this in mind if I get one. Right now, I have my hands full pampering an adorable hamster named Mimi. Some of the rules listed here also apply to hamsters, except the vacuum. For some reason, hamsters seem to like the vacuum. How strange! Cute hub and voted up!
Dear Gemini,
Your hub is so timely. I haven't had a kitty in my house for some time, but this week my daughter's two cats AND her BIG dog are moving in with me temporarily (oh yes, my daughter is, too). I needed a refresher on cat pampering, and your words are helpful indeed.
Do you have any special advice about the BIG dog? The kitties don't like him at all, and I'm afraid he's too goofy to understand that the claw swipes at the nose (most of which do connect, btw) mean business.
Anxiously awaiting your reply,
Sherri
PS Give Mama a nice big purr from me. She's so sweet to be your scribe. :)
Cat lovers of the world, unite!
That was so enjoyable to read! It was such a great idea to write it from Gemini's eyes. So creative and funny, but also very informative. I can't wait to get my own first kitty! I have only had a dog so I don't know how to take care of cats yet. Even though I heard that they pretty much take care of themselves. After reading this, they seem like harder work then I thought.
Congrats on the Hub of the Day award. I am a dog person, and he would probably say all of the same things.
A great tutorial, Gemini, and one we can all use. Training our humans can be difficult, but it IS possible with perseverance and effort.
I'm going to make an effort this year to have them keep that tree in the living room year 'round - those neat little things hanging from it are so fun to swat at!
And be sure your human has a laser pointer. They are SOOO much fun to play with, and my humans seem to enjoy it as well.
Shadow, King of the House.
Ahhh I love cats and they really do deserve to be pampered. I have just moved house, but the one thing which is missing is a cat to spoil. Our neighbor's cat comes to visit now and again and he comes inside to play, but it's not quite the same as having my own.
I love the idea of making soup for the cat - how lovely :)
Cute and clever hub. Congratulations on having the hub of the day.
Very enjoyable reading. Cute and creative. Congratulations for Hub of the Day!
Hello Gemini King of the world. This is Kimba the White Lion. I appreciate you doing this small service to the staff of the world!
I must say though, I was most shocked that you forgot to mention baths! My stupid staff- one in particular who refers to herself as "Mummy" has this strange obsession with putting me in this enormous water and rubbing me all over with soap and then dredging me with more water.
I have shred her to ribbons so many times, yet she continues to do it. But I am working on her.
I have also given up on bringing this Mummy character presents, I once caught a rat from the bush that was first confused for a small possum. Did she cook it for me? No of course not she rudely screamed and asked the Daddy staff to get rid of it. Perfectly good present ! Harumph!
Just today I felt like some poultry. SO I caught a magpie and brought it to show this Mummy staff so that she could get those awful feathers out of the way.
But enough about my incompetent staff, although they did feed me chicken tonight. I might forgive them.
Thank you for writing this hub Gemini, hopefully my staff have learned a little something and congratulations on hub of the day, though what could you expect? Cats will do it perfectly first time, all the time.
Regards
Kimba
Hi Stephanie, you are right about the fleece blanket. Any time I am using one, there is my cat right on top of me and the blanket.
I love it! Our cat is definitely the ruler of our house. He even kicks the dog out of the kitchen to steal a little bit of his food! It cracks me up - a 7 pound cat can put a 90 pound Golden Retriever in his place! Great hub, and Gemini looks like he deserves the royal treatment!
This hub is purrfect! I have to go pet my Pepe-cat now. And feed him some more! Voted up and funny!
I think it's true that cats enjoy music. Both of mine seem to always want to hang out near the computer whenever I have my acoustic instrumental channel running on Pandora.
Oh, and dare I mention the crack-nip? Harley the tabby becomes the Mighty Hunter when he gets a snoot-full, and starts running through the house like a wild man with all his surrogate prey toys.
Congratulations on your HOTD award!
I see that my queen of everything has been hiding a cute hub from me this week. I'm sure that it's just because she is surprised to find out that there are other queens in the world. :)
Your Gemini is a beautiful little king. He looks quite deserving of his list of rules and I can see how it wouldn't take much for him to get his way about them.
Congrats on the Hub of the Day award, especially because it makes us smile!
We had two cats growing up and they were such a joy. We just got a kitten about 6 weeks ago. My kids named him Charlie Raisin. He is so much fun to have around the house. Being a kitten he is trying to train us to play with him at 2 am. Needless to say, we are not learning this very well! This was so cute to read, I'm sure that Charlie Raisin would agree with every word! Congrats on the hub of the day!
Your Highness, I wish to warn you of possible usurpers to your title. (They live at my house.)
I was so happy to open HubPages today and see Gemini staring back at me. Congrats to you and Gemini on Hub of the Day.
Its really a informative and useful hub base on the real nature of ats.thanks for sharing that in formation.voted up!
Congrats on Hub Of the Day Stephanie!! :)
An awesome hub and very creative! Makes me miss our beloved "Malibu". We still joke about how she would turn back her ears in annoyance every time the vacuum cleaner started up:)
Good!
This was absolutely delightful. I loved the tongue in cheek style of writing, the photos and the character traits of cats that many cat owners and lovers can relate to.
Voted up across the board!
Congratulations on earning the Hub of the Day accolade.
Stephanie Henkel: I loved this!! You deserved Hub of the Day for it!! Cats are lovely....and moody..and what would we do without them??? Seriously, one must know before having a cat or cats come to live at their place, that once the cat comes, it is no longer their place. The cat really does become the master or mistress of all there is to survey and peruse! Sounds like Gemini has that down!!! Still chuckling as I finish this comment..
Congatulations to gemini for making you type such a great hub and getting selected as the hub of the day!!
-carrie
great work dear nice hubs
This hub was awesome and nothing less! The first sentence says it all! I'm curious, how well does Gemini do with a harness and leash? My cat sits, shakes, lays down, but won't for the life of her walk on a leash.
wow great Hub :)
Ours couldn't have written it better herself!
Stephanie: Congrats on hub of the day... you SO deserve a hub of the day or five. I happen to love this hub a great deal. Cats do come first and to be quite honest... my vacuum has chocked on a few cat toys. I found myself laughing and remembering things as I read this hub. Very nicely done!
Haha! Definitely one of the cutest hubs I've seen lately. Gemini is a lucky cat who is looked after someone who knows how to pamper cats. Nice hub, Steph.
Princesswithapen
This is TOO CUTE! Not to mention hilarious. This hub made me laugh out loud several times. I have got to make my friends read this. Very well done and clever! I can see why it's the hub of the day.
What an uplifting hub. Gemini has a kitty flair that is for sure. A pampered cat is a happy cat :) I also linked and twittered...
Gemini is one lucky cat indeed! thanks.
He he he... I'm pretty sure Gemini teamed up with my three cats in writing this. I can tell you are a very well-versed cat lover, as am I. I'm trying to figure out what kind of cat he is. He appears to have some Seal Point Siamese in him, but he has Calico characteristics. What color are his eyes? He in one handsome boy, very worthy of his King title, I might add. Love it!
Oh no. I just realized I referred to Gemini as a girl. A mama's boy - that's even better. Your cat hubs really make me miss my kitty of 19 years. He was cantankerous and cuddly all rolled into one.
By the way, my guy hated the vacuum too (Gemini's recommended human trick #10). Interestingly, when he was 13 I was vacuuming and he didn't run away. I started to wonder what was wrong with him - was he just getting old or was he sick? As it turns out he was diabetic and lived for another 6 years. But it was his sudden non-response to the vacuum that worried me. Of course I didn't tell the vet his symptoms were, "he didn't run from the vacuum."
Gemini certainly looks like a Mama's girl. What a lucky kitty and what a lucky Mama too.
Your welcome. Your hub was very enjoyable.
A Hub that any self-respective cat would applaud, Stephanie Henkel! I absolutely love this... and wouldn't mind being treated thusly myself! Pets in the Henkel household sure have it good!
Very interesting and really fun to read. I have a cat and she likes Fancy Feast, so that's what I give her. Beautiful photos of your cat Gemini. 10 ways to pamper your cat by Gemini was really great and fun and entertaining. Gemini did a great job in writing it.
Well, my cat Lilly would probably give you an award. She believes, very seriously that she is the real head of the household, and perhaps, even, the greatest dignatary in the Western world! Voted up.
So many awesome tips here! I agree that cats definitely deserve to be pampered. I don't know why you would own a pet if you didn't want to spoil it a little (or a lot...).
You have a beautiful cat, and I just love this hub! Cats, of course, are princes/princesses and deserve to be pampered! Our K.C. (kitty cat) is a beautiful gray shorthair with amber eyes. She is begging to be the subject of one of my future hubs.... LOL!! Rated up, as always!
Haha! This is really cute...and a good primer for those who wish to pamper their feline friends. Our two cats have their special likes and dislikes, and I must say that the vacuum cleaner is probably at the top of the list for dislikes. Clean litter...ABSOLUTELY! Loved this! Up votes.
Hahaha, I think this was my cats talking here. They sure do own us, definitely have us trained to be at their beck and call. Really entertaining hub, thank you so much. Voted up and awesome!
My two cats are not going to be allowed to see this hub! One of them tries to skype on my computer as it is. The other one can't be bothered with details.
Yes, I have learned to leave my closet doors open at all times. They act like their only job is to inspect behind any closed door for mice or whatever important cat business they have in there.
If I could only train them to leave the birds alone.
Lovely hub. I'd like to be a kitty in your house. I am a bloke who really likes cats and dogs and have had quite a few of both. Cats are best when you have a few (I had 17 in Baja) Then you can be the leader of the pride and they love and respect you. I'll never forget my cats: the joy and the sadness too...Bob
Hi Gemini King of World, My name is Chewy and my son is Jaja (I know it’s embarrassing what people call us cats - apparently we’re named after characters in some ridiculous film). I am queen of the world, so maybe we could get married some time. I’d certainly like to marry you after you wrote this wonderful hub, explaining to these lesser beings just how they should treat us. I totally agree with everything, and would add that humans should totally ignore all vets who claim cats are overweight and need to put on a diet. If I want food ten minutes after I’ve eaten everything put out for myself and my son, then I should get it.
Thank you for this hub, you are doing a great service for Cat-kind.
My cat is queen of the world. and all the above advice applies to her as well. One look is all it takes to let her humans know when we have stepped out of line.
Stephanie, as I sit in my office, with three chairs (one for each cat) and watch Jo sit on my file box (set at the window to make sure the cats can see out) and know Shiloh is curled up in two of our blankest in the bedroom, I say, "well done, you have captured the need for pampering so well!"
I am certain that Jo, Shiloh and Grey Eye would agree with your words completely, especially the parts about cats coming first. Well done, my dear!
So cute Stephanie:) I have a cat and I believe she may have been chatting up your cat onnthe phone because they sound just alike:) lol. Mia can't dictate or tyoe but I'll start the training! Haha. I have to share this so my sister can read it:)
Another great story to smile and chuckle about and this one I will try to pass on to a couple of friends. You have one lucky cat living with you but I'm sure Gemini knows that. P.S. Can't wait to see more on your new travels. Please keep me posted on any as we are staying home this winter and I always enjoy my mini vacations with you.
Hahahaha!! So true, so true, so very true! Good job, Gemini!
You may have a career as a blogger on The Cat Blogosphere! ;-)
Very cute & clever. Voted up and (don't tell Gemini)--funny!

Theraggededge - Hahaha...Gemini thinks that your cats already know what you should be doing to pamper your cats - they just need to teach you! Thanks for stopping by to read and comment!
